Flying to Luxor from the UK
We like to operate on a Wednesday to Wednesday basis, the reason for this is because there are three flights to Luxor airport on Wednesday, one from Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester airport. All of these flights leave the UK and arrive at Luxor within an hour or so of each other, so if your friends are arriving from Manchester and yourself from Gatwick there is no need for internal travelling within the UK. You will arrive at Luxor airport and be met by our manager Ibrahim and Sayed our driver, from there we will take you to the hotel where you will have the time to freshen up after your flight and maybe venture to one of Luxors many restaurants. We would advise an early night, but you do have the option for a lie–in, most customers like to leave at sunrise (6.am) for the 2-½ hour journey to Lake Nasser.
Starting your Holiday
Upon arrival at the boats you will be greeted by the guides, staff and security officer onboard (please read the security page), you luggage will be carried on board for you and placed in the front supply boat cabin where you will be welcomed with a drink of your choice and a freshly prepared hot meal. Whilst you are settling in we like to get going onto the lake. You will travel on the supply boat for about two hours, The two hours onboard the supply boat will allow you time to take in the wonderful surroundings on lake Nasser and also allow time for you to sort out your baggage Etc. then you will hop onto your respective fishing boats and this is when your fishing begins (usually no later than mid afternoon)
Let the fishing commence
You have the options of trolling/shore fishing from sunrise to sunset. (The sunsets usually 5-7 p.m) When the sunsets it’s time to go back to the supply boat for your evening meal…. NO IT DOES NOT STOP THERE!! The catfish fishing on the lake is some of the most exciting fishing there has to be offered, on really calm evenings you can see catfish of all different shapes and sizes milling around the shoreline in search of the oddments, this is the time where you can set up shore rods with different baits attached and fish for these hard fighting catfish! We recommend a very strong braided line for cat fishing as they seem to be able to detect the MONO line, even the slightest piece of MONO nearby will spook the catfish, luncheon meat works wonders and pop up boillies work well also, remember 99.99% of the fish have never seen our baits, so most prepared/packaged catfish baits will work very well.
Also at night you can also enjoy the clear night sky without the light, noise and air pollution, and far more stars are visible, this certainly helps you relax and unwind…
Making the most of your time on Laker Nasser
We like to wake as early as possible, we like to get out before sunrise to get the morning feeders, this is a great time for fishing, most customers do not want breakfast till usually 10 o’clock as they are out enjoying the morning fishing session, we can work around you and your party, you call the shots, you decide when you want to go fishing, after all it is your holiday.
You will travel some considerable distance whilst fishing, if the fish are not biting in one of our ‘hot spots’ you will obviously move to a different location. You could spend 6 months solid on the lake and still not be able to cover half of the fishing spots. This is due to the vast expanse of lake Nasser.
On Tuesday afternoon you will leave Lake Nasser and head off back to Luxor, we will take you back to the hotel and then ask you if there are any sights you wish to see (Valley of the kings, Hapshepsut temple, Luxor temple, Karnak temple etc etc.) also we can arrange a balloon flight for you on the Wednesday morning, This is a MUST DO and we can get an ½ hour flight per person for as cheap as £30!!! (average price £99!)
Returning Home
Most flights back to the UK on Wednesday do not leave till late afternoon so this will give you sufficient time to see a few things, buy a few items from Luxor's busy and crazy ‘Souk market’, or just relax by the pool! We will personally escort you back to luxor airport in time for you to look around the duty free shops, grab any last minute shopping and then hop on your respective flight to your nearest international airport.
I will stress that this itinerary is for the UK based angler, we are more than happy to accept anglers from any continent worldwide, please contact us for details, we are also more than willing to collect customers from Aswan airport and internal flights can be brought cheaply from Egypt air.
